JR photography

Ever since I saw the first video about the project 28milimeters, I haven't stopped checking out on JR. A great photographer and a very engaging street artist, quite like no one else out there, he has an "in your face" approach to propagandizing culturally relevant issues.

After the Face2Face project, which puts Palestinians and Israelis "face to face" aiming for them to realize how similar people they are. JR is back with another, just as strong, social issue.

"Women are heroes" is about the lives of women in countries like Sierra Leone, Liberia, Southern Sudan and Kenya. "And not surprisingly, the work is absolutely breathtaking." - woosterblog
